Went to a 50th high school reunion here and the food was very good
It was served buffet style and everything was delicious
It was too hot though. They could have cranked air conditioning
The servers were very nice
A reunion with people seated at a bunch of tables where you can't mingle is not a great concept -

I went there on Sunday 9/1 at 4 pm with 15 guys from work. The wait staff was attentive as far as getting alcohol for us but slow to bring chips until we asked a few times for more. One guy would take a drink order and then another would come by to do the same. Mass confusion. I asked for more salsa for the chips. The bowl was taken but salsa never came. It was hard to get water refills. We asked for someone to take our food order and then had to ask again 15 minutes later.
Anyway, I ordered the chili colorado. I could only eat the rice and beans. The sauce was flavorful but the meat was so dry it was inedible. Another person tried my meat only to spit it out into his napkin. Needless to say, I left it all on the plate and nobody there cared.
The guy next to me ordered a tostada and received a tortilla bowl with lots of guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and a little bit of chicken. He didn't like it.
The guy across from me ordered the carne asada plate and couldn't eat the meat. Ditto for another person for the same plate.
The waiter never came back to see how the meal was.
They obviously need a better meat supplier or step up and buy better quality than commercial B. Shoe leather from the store would have been less expensive and more palatable.
Apparently the only food that was eaten were the basic combination plates that you get at any generic Mexican restaurant. Cheese enchiladas (where's the beef?), chili rellenos, tacos, etc.... Also, if you like spicy, it's not here. -

Hello fellow Yelpers-
We were celebrating a birthday and experience inattentive service. What happen was...another waiter was celebrating their B-Day at Moreno's too. All the attention went to that celebration. (Which looked really cool, BTW)
Anyways, sat for almost 10 minutes before someone came by the table - the Bus Boy. took our drink order then the waiter ran over and the waiter and bus boy had an heated confusing discussion on who takes the drink order. Still felt invisible. So the drinks come 10 minutes later - then the waiter came by to say hello and we placed a appetizers. Ten minutes later he came back to take our dinner orders - still no appetizers. Told him I didn't want the appetizers to come out with dinner - he said 'No,No it's coming out now.
Ten minutes later here comes the appetizers. Not one minute later here comes our food. I always get the carnitas plate so I've experience quite a lot of carnitas plates in my life time and was acutely aware the the carnitas were burn to a crisp. I put my napkin on the plate and pushed away from the table in disgust. Trying to get the attention of the waiter to make avail - they all went to sing happy birthday to the employee of the restaurant. My wife told me 'take that napkin off my plate'. Haha - She snapped me out of my funk and she rocks! Then we just made the best of the company we were with and manage to have good conversation and the food put on our plates should not have been served. The waiter recognized the problems at the end of our time there and took the appetizers off the bill so that was cool - but overall not a good experience at all but very memorable and not in a good way. -

Have come here since 78'. On average eat here once a month. Always great food and really good service. Around the Holidays we always come and get the tamales. All around an awesome place.

Called a few weeks before to make a reservation and the lady had told me there was no need, which was strange. Upon arrival for my grandmas birthday brunch, the snarky manager was very rude to my father and said we needed to call 6 months ahead. After asking if they could possibly accommodate, they said they did not care we had family coming from far away for this brunch and said we needed a reservation beforehand... would have been nice to know when we called initially.
so beside the miscommunication between staff & the very rude manager up front I am DEFINITELY not coming back here.
